Working Parents--IB2
Positions:
I haven't exactly chosen a specific position to take on working parents but I think that there are many sides you could take on this subject.
a. General statistics on the difference between having both parents working or having at least one stay-at-home parent.
b. How is children's behavior when both parents work away from home?
c. Are the majority of parents working outside the home doing it for necessity or desire?
Conjecture: The situation of parents working full time with children at home.
Definition: When children are home without a parent there to care for them because of work.
Value: The value is based on how not having a parent at home full time to care for them can affect a child.
Policy: Encourage parents who have the means to stay at home and care for children.
I need to do research on the affects of parents working when children are home without quality time with parents can have on a family. There are so many positions on this topic, I need to narrow it down by doing research on the most populare and interesting topics. I will need statistical evidence to support my claim.

You have some great points here, i am interesting in hearing more about how children act when both parents work. I think if both parents work they will mis behave a little bit more because no one is there to punish them. Also i think they are more likely to have alone and personality problems. I think you have picked a great topic and i like hearing and learning about it.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely a start, but need to find a topic, I'm not sure this completes the assignment. Anyhow, as an opposing view, which doesn't appear to be there: there isn't an effect of having both parents working, and the children will grow up the same. For instance my parents both worked away from home, and I turned out ... Semi okay haha! Just get some more sides for your topic.... --Alex Chandler
